Who doesn’t love a new year and a fresh start? It’s a time to reflect, make changes, and look ahead to exciting new goals. For the makers of your favorite UTVs, 2017 will be no different! If you’re a UTV enthusiast, chances are while you’re outlining your New Year’s resolutions it will include a few new trails you hope to try out, a new resolve to keep up with your UTV maintenance, and maybe even a few budgeting goals so that you can outfit your ride with the latest and greatest UTV accessories. While you look ahead at accomplishing your personal goals in 2017, it’s also fun to look at what UTV companies hope to accomplish this year with their new models. Whether you’re in the market for a new UTV or not, here are just a few of the biggest names in the UTV world with their newest and greatest models.
Kawasaki
If you’re looking for the fastest and most powerful MULE side by side, the Kawasaki MULE PRO claims to be your ticket. There are several models available in this UTV; you can choose from the 812cc three-c cylinder fuel injected DFI gasoline engine, or a 993cc three-cylinder diesel engine. The first will give you a 48 lb-ft of torque, while the latter has torque that won’t quit no matter what your task. Are you familiar with CTV, or continuously variable transmissions? The Mule Pro has it. And you’ll electronically be able to choose 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive, as well as dual-mode locking rear differential. If you’re looking for something that give you control in any situation, and can handle any construction, farm, fleet, or recreational job, check out the 2017 MULE PRO. Kawasaki has also amped up the Teryx which should prove to be excellent for the trail and for climbing.
Polaris
Polaris also offers a 2017 line up of its Ranger line. You can choose from two, three, four, or six seats with these UTV’s. Other options for the 4x4 include 500cc to 1000cc. To highlight one of the Polaris Ranger models, the Sage Green XP 900 ESP will give you excellent suspension, has plenty of room for you and all your buddies, and comes at a reasonable price. Other UTV’s from Polaris to watch in 2017 are the Ranger XP1000, General 4 seater, and ACE 900 XC. If you’re specifically looking for a UTV for trail riding or for rock crawling, you should be excited for the RZR XP1000.
Can-Am
While it was released toward the end of 2016, the Can-Am Maverick X3 has generated plenty of hype as an early 2017 model release. It has been one of the most anticipated high performance sport UTV of the year, and here’s why. It has a proven ACE 900 engine, and has a keyless start! Just insert a chip into place and press the start button. The seat can also move forwards and backwards six inches! Which is something tall riders will love.
