Five Items You Should Bring on Every UTV Outing

You never know when you will find yourself in trouble on the trail when riding your UTV. People all too often find themselves stranded on the mountainside or in the dunes waiting for help. Unfortunately, some of these instances include people waiting through the night for help to come. Whether your ride is a couple of hours or days, there are a handful of items you need to bring on UTV rides.

Continue reading to learn what you need to bring along your UTV adventures every time to ensure you make it home safely.

Basic Tool and Repair Kit

Many repairs only require a few basic tools for a simple fix. You can save yourself a lot of time and a massive headache by bringing along a tool and repair kit. Stock your machine with the essentials like a winch, duct tape, zip ties, screwdrivers, tire repair supplies, jump-starter cables, tow strap, headlamp, wrenches, and anything else you think you might need. Keep your machine tidy by storing all of these items in a roll cage storage organizer.

Food and Water

You will likely need energy, and you won’t have any without sustenance. So it is essential to not leave home or camp without extra water and food. You don’t need to pack much, but enough food and water to get you and whoever else is with you through an emergency.

Cellphone and Charger

Do not forget your phone when heading for the hills. Even though service can sometimes be spotty in the best riding areas, it is worth it to bring your cell. If you have service, you can call someone for help and send your exact location with a simple click of a button. Don’t run out of batteries, though! It is best to bring along a portable charging device or a charging cord.

First Aid Kit

Whether you buy a pre-made kit or make your own, it is important to bring a first aid kit along every ride. If you or one of your passengers are injured, medical help is likely hours away (depending on where you are riding). This means it will be up to one of you to provide medical care. Providing medical help and assistance is intimidating and will be even more intimidating if you do not have a well-stocked first aid kit. Make sure your first aid kit is stocked with the essentials.

UTV Cover

A UTV cover is good for more than just storing your machine. If you become stranded, put your cover on your UTV and climb in, as if it were a tent. It will protect against the elements and help keep in the heat.
